
William J. Lamping has built his reputation as a litigator and commercial transactional attorney over twenty nine years of courtroom and business experience. Mr. Lamping has litgated cases involving antitrust, patent, trademark and copyright issues, as well as dealer terminations, professional liability, personal injury, employment, ERISA, product liability and commercial disputes. As counsel for builders, automotive suppliers and executives, Mr. Lamping has experience protecting the interests of his clients in corporate management, employment issues, creditors' rights, and business transactions. Mr. Lamping serves as a case evaluator for Oakland County Circuit Court and Wayne County Circuit Court. He is a volunteer arbitrator for the Better Business Association.
Mr. Lamping attended the University of Michigan Honors College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer and Communication Sciences in 1976. He attended Wayne State Universty Law School in Detroit, Michigan where he served as a research assistant to Prof. Otto Hetzel, and received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1979.
Mr. Lamping's background and experience in computer science, including his knowledge of software engineering, database programming, data structures, web design, HTML and XHTML coding, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), Javascript, and acessability standards, has benefitted his clients in the information technology field. Mr. Lamping has represented software developers, web companies, technology users and site creators in development agreements and licensing issues. Mr. Lamping serves on the Council of the Information Technology Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan.
