VMD&D, P.C. -- History

A History of Leadership — A Tradition of Excellence

Our firm’s roots began in Detroit in 1848, only eleven years after Michigan was admitted to the Union.

Building

In 1848 the population of Detroit was 21,000, and the law firm of Gray & Gray was one of the first in the growing city. Gray & Gray was succeeded in 1913 by Trowbridge & Lewis, which became Trowbridge, Lewis & Watkins in 1920, and then Lewis & Watkins in 1933.

Our Firm Today — Experienced Attorneys with a Passion for Client Service

In 1967 the Lewis & Watkins firm merged with the firm of Dahlberg, Simon, Jayne & Gawne to form Dahlberg, Mallender & Gawne. Dahlberg, Mallender & Gawne merged with Vestevich, Dritsas, Evans & Becker in 1991 to create the present firm of Vestevich, Mallender, DuBois & Dritsas, P.C.
